MEMBERSHIP

WHO CAN JOIN?
Membership in CFUW Aurora/Newmarket is open to all women.
A university degree is not required for membership.
Student Membership: CFUW defines Student Membership as a woman who is a resident of Canada and is a full-time university student enrolled in a degree diploma or equivalent program that could lead to graduate studies. A student member is entitled to all privileges and responsibilities of CFUW and pays 50 per cent of the club dues.
DUES
Membership Fees are currently $90.00 per year. This amount includes per capita dues paid to CFUW National Office and the Ontario Council of CFUW.
WHAT WE DO
- Hold monthly meetings from September to April, with a business session followed by a guest speaker
- Coordinate Interest Groups and Study Groups
- Host various social events throughout the year
- Present awards to 13 high school students in the Region as well as one to each of York University and Seneca College
- Contribute to various outreach projects which impact the lives of girls and women
- Educate our members on environmental issues
- Advocate for improvements to the status of women and human rights
